Very important is a road loss of first ranked SlovenianCedevita Ol. (10-3) against fourth ranked Austrian BC Vienna (3-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Cedevita Ol. was defeated by BC Vienna in a tough game in Vienna 89-93 . It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Cedevita Ol. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovenian-Austrian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-1990) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American-Guinean guard Souley Boum (190-1999, college: Xavier) supported him with 29 points. Even 24 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American point guard Umoja Gibson (185-1998, college: DePaul) did not help to save the game for Cedevita Ol. . His fellow American import DJ Stewart Jr (197-1999, college: MSU) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cedevita Ol.'s coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Vienna moved-up to second place, which they share with Krka and Borac. Defending Slovenian champion Cedevita Ol. still keeps top position with three games lost.
